No Student Will Be Left Behind!

Over 97% of the students enrolled in S.T.A.R.S. are African American. All of the students attend CMS
schools and most are enrolled in F.O.C.U.S. (Finding Opportunities; Creating Unparalleled Success) schools, which are identified by the District as needing additional resources to support student achievement.A majority of the students live below the poverty level in single‐parent households and struggle with Hyperactivity Disorder, academic underperformance, poor peer relations, high rates of unexcused absences and grade retention.
